6ft 11in, Andrew Smith is almost two feet taller than his high school sweetheart, but that didn't stop him from proposing to her.
The 22-year-old college basketball player, who plays for the Butler Bulldogs, was nearly the same height as his 5ft 1in girlfriend Samantha Stage when he got down on one knee last June.
And despite their height difference, the Indianapolis, Indiana pair - who have been dubbed the 'heart-meltingly cute couple of the NCAA' by BuzzFeed - plan to wed on May 18.

Andrew and Samantha began dating four years ago, when the basketball center was just one inch shorter than he is now.
'All [Andrew's] friends call me Dora because I'm so small like Dora the Explorer,' Samantha explained to Yahoo!
But despite the teasing, the pair say they don't let their height difference affect them. 'It was always the big joke in high school, but he loves how short I am,' said the 21-year-old.
Because of their uneven sizes, Andrew and Samantha have to get creative when it comes to posing in pictures together.
In one image posted on their wedding website, Andrew lifts up his petite fiancee for a kiss, and her toes can be seen barely grazing his knees.

Andrew surprised his girlfriend by proposing to her on the day before her birthday last year.
The basketball player planned a romantic day of birthday celebrations to distract her while he planned to pop the question that night.
First they had a picnic, followed by dinner and a movie.
But when they got home that night, Andrew made Samantha go into her room to search for her birthday present.All the while, Samantha was convinced her boyfriend was acting nervous because he had planned a surprise birthday party for her.
'I fling the door open fully expecting a group of my dear friends,' the brunette wrote on their wedding website. But instead, she found an empty bedroom.
'I practically strip my bed completely of covers and pillows as I look for my present, all while I'm yelling to Andrew, "Where is it? I can't find it,"' she recalls.
Finally Samantha walked into the living room and found Andrew on one knee.
Needless to say, the petite brunette said yes.

The couple plan to wed in Indiana on May 18, one week after the college basketball player's graduation ceremony.
According to Indystar, Andrew wants six children once they are financially stable, while his fiancee has been considering four.
But the sports star will likely have to travel a lot for NCAA tournaments and games abroad.
'It is exciting,' Samantha told the website. 'It is very exciting.'
